Our Health Manager, Kennedy Garrett, is back for her 3rd year on staff. We’ve added Lauryn Fowle, a CNA, to our health care staff. Cayley McKowen, one of our girls’ counselors is also a CNA and a 3rd year nursing student.
We’ve added Jamie Hinkle to our staff as our Sanitation Specialist. Jamie’s job is to increase sanitation throughout camp with regular disinfecting of common touch areas, extra cleaning and disinfection in the dining hall and bathrooms, and overseeing camper hygiene.
We are installing extra hand-washing stations in the more remote areas of camp such as the soccer field, slingshot range, waterfront, and challenge course.
We have completed a 50 foot deck on the lodge, which will allow for outside dining and more space in the dining hall.
We have reduced the number of children in cabins and in camp in total. There will be a minimum of 6 feet between heads for sleeping.
The motorcoach is being professionally disinfected between passengers.
Our health care staff will be on the motorcoach and providing full health screenings prior to campers boarding.
Ashland Memorial Medical Center (our local hospital) is well prepared and able to perform testing.
We will not be participating in activities that require us to interact with the public.
Our staff is voluntarily being tested for COVID and will be quarantined at camp for nearly 3 weeks prior to our campers’ arrival.
We will check temperatures daily.
We will also be asking families to check temperatures daily for 14 days prior to camp.
We have cleared a building that was formerly staff housing for potential quarantine. We will ask parents to pick up their child if they test positive.
We will notify our families of any potential cases or contact. I will also follow up with emails following camp sessions asking families to report any new information.
If rapid testing becomes accessible, we may be requiring campers to be tested prior to arrival. We will let you know if that happens.
